With summer quickly approaching, not only is it the climax of crawfish season, but it’s also the peak of festivals all around the Acadiana area. With the beautiful weather, everyone can’t help but want to be outdoors!
Last weekend Acadiana hosted one of the biggest festivals in the state, Festival International. Visitors came from all over the world to view a little slice of our Cajun culture. Other smaller festivals that took place last weekend were the Etouffee Festival in Arnauldville, LA and Cajun Woodstock in Church Point, LA.
One of our favorite festivals will be taking place this weekend, the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival. This is an amazing festival for outsiders to see “how real Cajuns do it”! This festival is fun for EVERYONE; there are crawfish races, cook-offs, crawfish eating contests, live entertainment, dancing, and so much more! Just a random fact…. the current crawfish eating champ has put away 18.5 pounds in a 45 minute period, “Mais das amazing”!
The Church Point Buggy Festival and Cajun-Heartland State Fair are also quickly approaching and display our Cajun culture impeccably. So if anyone is planning a trip to Cajun country soon, be sure and check out some of the festivities! For those of you who can’t…. we can bring the Cajun party directly to your front door!
